Art students paint Plymouth white

Jack Morris and Sue Austin, from Plymouth University, painted temporary white lines across the city over the weekend. They used therefore a bicycle and a mobility scooter. Plymouth City Council has received complaints about these spiral white lines, they do not see this as art. Art student have started a debate about public art by painting a path of white lines across the city. They did have an agreement for the project but they did not ask for permission, said the council. The university did not wait for permissions, they already had an agreement. The students used non-toxic, water-soluble chalk for painting the white lines. That wears off in a couple of days, or weeks at most.

Reaction: Art students paint Plymouth white

I like it, it is beautiful. Let’s paint all the boring streets for a couple days or weeks. Nobody can say what art is and what is not, that is the secret. If you can explain your work and your competence, it is art in your eyes. These students also thought about the chalk they used, it does not damage the environment. I still do not understand the difference between an agreement to workout a project and a permission to work out your plans. The council was not clear enough while deliberating this project; if he was there would not be a mistake about it afterwards.

A woman gave birth as her partner drove

Becci Longley, 20, and her boyfriend Andrew Mildenhall, 21, were driving to the hospital for the third time because Becci was pregnant and their baby was coming. Becci was sent home twice by staff at the hospital earlier that day. When Becci’s waters broke, just an hour after going home from their second visit at the hospital, her boyfriend started the journey to the hospital again. Becci was in the front passenger seat when her baby's head "popped out" on the M3 on the way to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. She said: "It was very scary but my natural instincts kicked in and I just knew I had to be calm."

Reaction: A woman gave birth as her partner drove

Wow! This is amazing; I would be very scared and nervous if I was Becci. I am glad that the baby is healthy after all. Becci said that her natural instincts helped her, which is unbelievable. It is strange that the hospital has sent her home twice, they have modern equipments for checking a pregnant woman anytime of the day. My compliments for Andrew, for driving the car while his girlfriend was giving birth. Their first baby is born very special but I hope the next one will be less special and safer.

Man jailed for murdering sisters

Mohammed Ali, 29, killed Yasmine Larbi-Cherif, 22, and her sister Sabrina, 19, in their Birmingham flat last year. Mohammed Ali stabbed Yasmine twice and Sabrina thirty-fife times before dragging their bodies into the bedroom. He used three knives to kill the sisters and went into the kitchen to rearm himself after breaking two of the knives. He was captured on CCTV while leaving the flat after killing the sisters, He carried a bag to hide his bloodstained clothes. Mohammed Ali claimed he was provoked after Yasmine had laughed at him about the time he had spent in prison after she made an allegation of rape against him, which was withdrawn later. Mohammed Ali finally gets arrested two days after at a ferry terminal in Dover, trying to leave UK. He must serve a minimum of thirty-four years in jail.

Reaction: Man jailed for murdering sisters

This is sad and awful, jailing Mohammed Ali for life is waste of money and time. Let the family of the victims decide what to do with Mohammed Ali. What is wrong with people, why do people do things like this? Do not try to make contact with people who blame you and laughing at you later on. You can not just kill people and try to run away that is not a solution. My opinion is, when a person kills someone with intent and that can be proven for 100 per cent, that person must be killed. Your life will be taken if you take someone else’s with intent.

More than 40 new swine flu cases

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed that forty-two people in England and one in Northern Ireland have been diagnosed with swine flu. Nineteen of the new cases are in the West Midlands, for this reason two schools have been closed following outbreaks among pupils. The forty-three cases bring the total numbers in the UK to 750. The good news is that an adult patient with the H1N1 virus (swine flu) is recovering in Birmingham City Hospital. The World Health Organisation has warned that a sharp increase in cases in Australia may mean the infection has become a pandemic.

Reaction: More than 40 new swine flu cases

The swine flu virus is getting more and more serious, but I am not going to wear a mouth cap yet. I work at the airport and that is a little bit risky when a virus like this begins to disperse so fast. I hope that scientists will discover an effective medicine which will protect or recover the people from the H1N1 virus as soon as possible. I am not scared after reading articles about the swine flu but, I realize that it is getting closer to The Netherlands.

Fresh rail blow for England fans

The stike by the Rail Maritime and Transport union has led to a closure of Tube stations in London. This will lead to an overcrowding because fans have to find an alternative way to get to NW London for the World Cup qualifier. Tens of thousands of fans are now likely to miss the game because of this travel chaos.

London Midland said: "Industrial action by the RMT Union affecting London Underground means that the level of services to and from Wembley has been significantly decreased presenting the risk of overcrowding on rail services."

London Midland and other rail operators, like Chiltern Railways, advise all fans attending the game to find alternative transport methods. The diehards have to drive, cycle or walk to the stadium.

Reaction: Fresh rail blow for England fans

This is really sad for the fans who paid a lot of money to join the World Cup qualifier. They have to leave early to be on time, because of the traffic that day. It is difficult to judge about the strike by the Rail Maritime Transport. A strike is a strike and the people can not do anything about it. Booking a hotel near by the stadium could be a solution, just one night instead of sticking in the traffic or missing the game. The fans will be victims after all; it will cost them more money than they hoped.

People like Debbie need serious help, how can she leave her children for a teenager? Debbie is out of her mind, she does not realize what she is doing to her own children by leaving them for this. I do not understand Adam’s mother either, she has to talk to Adam. Adam is only eighteen and does not understand what it is like to have a relationship with a mother of 36. You can not just do anything you like when you are 18, because the law sad so. This situation has also consequences for others who are involved involuntary.
